Over 1200 people flocked to the poundbakery and poundcafé for the grand opening of their first Blackpool centre branch, on busy Church Street.
More than 20 people have been employed from the local area in the new shop and café, with many more positions expected to open up following the success of the launch.
Pound Bakery store manager says: “Our first day has been a roaring success. The people of Blackpool raved about the quality and the price, and these prices are here to stay. People have been queuing out of the door for our breakfasts, where else can you get quality bacon, sausage, beans and an egg for £1.20?”
Mum, Erin Duffy (33) adds: “We had a lovely lunch in the new café. Cheese on toast for the little one and a ham sandwich for me. With a cup of tea it only came to £3. It’s great to get something hot and tasty into them when you’re out shopping”
