The world-famous Illuminations need little introduction. With six miles of traditional festoons, tableaux and interactive features along the Promenade, no wonder it’s commonly known as the greatest free light show on Earth!
The 2026 season will begin on Friday 4 September, with the Blackpool Illuminations display stretching the full traditional route from Starr Gate to Red Bank Road until Sunday 3 January, 2027
Tune in to Blackpool Illuminations Radio and enjoy the soundtrack to the Lights! Listen on DAB Digital Radio across Blackpool (search for BPL ILLUMINATION) or listen online at www.blackpool.gov.uk/radio. Illuminations Radio will be playing music all day and night to keep you entertained. They will also have useful insights and packed full of Illumination information. You can join the presenters live every Friday and Saturday night, as well as Lightpool Festival on the Comedy Carpet on Tower Festival Headland.
