Aqualux - Tower Festival Headland
20 – 31 October 2020: 6pm - 10pm daily
Peterbilt tour - 16, 17, 19, 20 October - more details will be released soon
48 unfilled water containers, which typically hold 1,000 litres of water each, will be specially adapted to create a stunning, transportable and eco-friendly light feature to raise the importance of water.
Did you know the average person uses the same amount of water these containers hold within the space of a year? And that’s only at home! Our great grandparents managed with only three containers. In fact, we’re using more water nowadays than ever before – from brushing our teeth, taking a daily shower, washing our hands to putting the kettle on to have a cup of tea. We use water for a wide range of purposes and, most of the time, we don’t realise just how much we use. Aqualux is an eye-opening feature with an educational twist, so make sure you catch a glimpse of it.

There are two ways you can see this artwork. An illuminated Peterbilt truck will tour the artwork, spanning 8 metres in length, around the streets of Blackpool, bringing Lightpool Festival up close and personal to local residents and visitors alike from 16, 17, 19, 20 October.
Keep checking back as we plan to announce the tour details shortly. You can also view Aqualux on the Comedy Carpet from 6-10pm daily after 22 October.
