Whether you traditionally celebrate Valentine’s Day or not, make 2018 the year that you make a romantic gesture.
Blackpool has stunning architecture, fantastic shows, fascinating history and plentiful places to wine and dine your love. Embrace some of Blackpool’s sparkle and get romantic during the week of Valentine’s Day!
A romantic evening with Joe Longthorne
What could be more romantic than dinner and a show? On Sunday, 11th February, the legendary Joe Longthorne will perform live on stage with his big band with an evening of music and memories to celebrate the most tender time of the year.
As you enjoy a delicious dinner, the show will be hosted by Leye D Johns and the glittering stars of Viva Blackpool to present an amazing Vegas-style show.
A walk in the park
If you’re looking for a peaceful escape and time to just be together, Blackpool has the answer. Stanley Park is perfect for a romantic picnic or leisurely walk, with lush flora and fauna, ornamental gardens and a picturesque lake. If you want to feel the sea air in your lungs, take a walk down Blackpool Promenade, enjoying the unique public art of the Great Promenade Show in South Shore or having a chuckle at the Comedy Carpet.
A night at the flicks
Have you heard about The Regent Cinema? Originally opened in 1921, The Regent Cinema was a popular cinema for decades before it was turned into a bingo hall in the 60s.
In 2016, The Regent Cinema re-opened as an independent and licensed cinema that features classic films.
On 16th February, catch “Life Is Beautiful” at the Regent Cinema in one of the unique couple’s seats for just £14.50 for the pair of you in this bittersweet and charming wartime drama starring Roberto Benigni and Nicoletta Braschi.
Culture (with your), darling
There’s no reason why some time together shouldn’t be a learning experience! Head to The Grundy Art Gallery, where during February, the gallery will feature a programme of artists’ film and video in partnership with the Institute of Contemporary Art, London. At the gallery, there is also a huge collection of paintings, installations and photography that showcases the very best of contemporary art.
A visit to Blackpool isn’t complete without a visit to the iconic Blackpool Tower. A perfect excuse for hand-holding is to step out onto the glass Skywalk together at the Tower top, and if you feel like you could walk on air, take it to the Blackpool Tower Ballroom and American Smooth away the afternoon.
Dinner with a view
From what we hear, the best way to someone’s heart is through their stomach! There are few better views on the Fylde Coast than that from the White Tower Restaurant. This elegant, art deco building has a reputation for housing Blackpool’s most romantic restaurant, with a great setting and an impeccable, locally-sourced menu.
However you choose to spend your Valentine’s Day in Blackpool, we wish you and your love the most magical day!
