World Fireworks Championship Blackpool return for 2026
Dates have now been confirmed for this year’s spectacular World Fireworks Championship Blackpool, one of the resort’s most iconic autumn events.
Three countries will compete across three nights:
- 12 September – 8.15pm firing time build up from 7.45pm
- 26 September – 7.45pm firing time build up from 7.15pm
- 10 October – 7.30pm firing time build up from 7pm
Each breathtaking display - synchronised to music and launched from the beach in front of The Blackpool Tower - is completely free to attend, offering visitors and residents the chance to enjoy world‑class pyrotechnics in an iconic location.
The competing countries for 2026 will be revealed in the coming months.
Rain alone does not affect whether a display goes ahead. Our Events Team, in partnership with Titanium Fireworks, continuously monitors weather conditions in the lead-up to each event, with a particular focus on wind speed and direction, and storm conditions, which are the key factors in any decision to postpone or cancel a show. So bring a brolly and wrap up warm if rain is forecast and enjoy the show!

The firework display takes place over the beach in front of the iconic Blackpool Tower. Take your place along Central Promenade between Central Pier and North Pier to watch the spectacle.
All displays are subject to suitable weather conditions. The event will build-up 30 minutes before each display:
- 12 September – 8.15pm firing time build up from 7.45pm
- 26 September – 7.45pm firing time build up from 7.15pm
- 10 October – 7.30pm firing time build up from 7pm
Safety Note: Please be aware that tramway will be operational, so please ensure you stay a safe distance from the tramway.
