INDIA TRIUMPHS AT THE 2025 WORLD FIREWORKS CHAMPIONSHIP BLACKPOOL
Amir Morani Fireworks, a pyrotechnics team from India have been crowned our first champions of Blackpool’s annual World Fireworks competition. They are now the first team to qualify for the prestigious Champion of Champions final taking place in 2028.
The display by the team from India set the bar high when they performed what they described as a “varied and diverse display” in the first of three spectacular shows staged on the Tower Festival Headland during September and October.
The judges, who scored them ahead of subsequent performances by Ukraine and Canada, described the display as “one of the best we’ve judged” and praised the synchronisation to the music and the use of new fireworks.
Amir Morani Fireworks (AMFW) is India’s pioneering pyrotechnics and special effects company, with a legacy spanning over eight decades and has continuously redefined the standards of fireworks and special effects in India and across the globe.
Cllr Lynn Williams, Leader of Blackpool Council and one of the judges, said “Each year the World Fireworks Championship Blackpool brings together the very best in pyrotechnic talent and this year’s displays were nothing short of extraordinary.
“Team India’s creativity and technical brilliance truly lit up the Blackpool sky. We are delighted to confirm that they will return in 2028 to compete in the Champion of Champions event.”
Dates for next year's event will be announced in due course.
Rain alone does not affect whether a display goes ahead. Our Events Team, in partnership with Titanium Fireworks, continuously monitors weather conditions in the lead-up to each event, with a particular focus on wind speed and direction, and storm conditions, which are the key factors in any decision to postpone or cancel a show. So bring a brolly and wrap up warm if rain is forecast and enjoy the show!
