Blackpool Air Show is the highlight of the year for many visitors and residents. This can be described as a fun (and free!) event with plenty of activities on the ground and airborne, providing an exhilarating and memorable experience for everyone.
To complement the aerial programme, there will be plenty to see and do on the ground with a wide range of stalls, attractions and food concessions in the Air Show Village on the Tower Festival Headland open from 10am - 6pm on both days.
This summer, the village is sponsored by the family entertainment centre Coral Island which is located close to the Tower in the heart of all the action*.
Jeff MacNamara from Coral Island said: “We are delighted to become the first sponsor of the Air Show Village working in partnership with VisitBlackpool. As one of Blackpool’s largest family venues, Coral Island is proud to support fantastic events like the annual Air Show. We look forward to the excitement this event will bring to the town’.
The Air Show Village will feature a variety of military concessions which will be open throughout the event and a number of members from each section will be on hand to answer any queries you may have about the jobs available, and there’s even an opportunity to try out a VR Lancaster flight! Here you can meet real members of the forces, ask them about what they do and take a look at all the equipment that they use on a regular basis.
Find a variety of other activities and vendors in the Air Show Village; cool down with an ice cream, opt for some sweet treats at the Pick ‘n Mix stalls or pick up our official Air Show Programme and the latest tourist information material at the Tourist Information marquee.
With unique traders and an array of wonderful vendors lining Blackpool Promenade, there will be something for everyone to enjoy. Don’t forget to reserve ahead of time at the already established Promenade-facing bars and restaurants, perfect for watching the air display.
Before and after the event, stay entertained at Coral Island and have fun at the Camel Derby, penny machines and anything else that tickles your fancy in Blackpool’s largest amusement arcade.
