Blackpool Air Show is the highlight of the year for many visitors and residents. This can be described as a fun (and free!) event with plenty of activities on the ground and airborne, providing an exhilarating and memorable experience for everyone.
To complement the aerial programme, there will be plenty to see and do on the ground with a wide range of stalls, attractions and food concessions in the Air Show Village on the Tower Festival Headland open from 10am - 6pm on both days.
Look out for the life-size replica of the world’s most iconic aerobatic plane on to Blackpool Promenade throughout the free event on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 August. With its distinctive red livery, the Hawk jet will take pride of place in the Air Show Village on the Tower Festival Headland, and will be situated between the RNLI and Central Pier, giving visitors a unique opportunity to climb into the cockpit and get a taste of what it is like to be a pilot of one of the most recognisable planes on the planet.
The Air Show Village, which will be sited between North and Central Piers, will include military vehicles, weapon stands, attractions, and information and official merchandise stalls for various aircraft that will be performing over the weekend. Here, there will be an opportunity to meet the ground crew of some of the aircraft and meet serving members of the forces, ask them about what they do and take a look at the equipment they use on a regular basis.
South of Central Pier there will also be a display from Lancashire Fire and Rescue, with the team on hand to show you around the fire engines and pick-up truck as well as giving out recruitment information.
Find a variety of other activities and vendors in the Air Show Village; cool down with an ice cream, opt for some sweet treats at the Pick ‘n Mix stalls or pick up our official Air Show Programme and the latest tourist information material at the Tourist Information marquee.
With unique traders and an array of wonderful vendors lining Blackpool Promenade, there will be something for everyone to enjoy. Don’t forget to reserve ahead of time at the already established Promenade-facing bars and restaurants, perfect for watching the air display.
