A visit to see Father Christmas is always a magical annual tradition for many families filled with surprise, wonder and dreams. We’ve recently heard the exciting news from Santa’s special elves that the main man himself is returning to the seaside to sprinkle some seasonal spirit during selected dates throughout December.
From decadently decorated grottos to Santa sightings from afar, venues in Blackpool are pulling out all the stops to deliver an unforgettable experience. It’s almost time to find out if your little ones have been naughty or nice. Find out where you can see Santa in Blackpool below.
Houndshill Shopping Centre
Visit Houndshill Shopping Centre’s Magical Grotto where Santa's busy elves are ready to send your little one on a story-telling journey to the North Pole. For just £5, Mrs Claus will excitedly greet your child and ask them to place their special letter in Santa's North Pole mailbox before talking to the jolly man.
Conveniently located in the heart of Blackpool, the grotto is ideal for those who want to do a spot of Christmas shopping in a range well-known retailers and independent shops in the town centre before heading to the Grotto.
Santa’s Grotto will officially open on 4 December by The Grinchie and will operate on selected dates during Santa’s busy schedule: 5, 11, 12, 18, 19 December from 10:30 – 4pm.
To end their magical stint at Houndshill, meet The Grinchie on 23 December from 5-8pm and wave goodbye to Santa and Mrs Claus on Christmas Eve morning from 10am till 1pm as Santa prepares for a very big night!

Your child will also be given a packet of ‘magic reindeer food’ and a ‘magic key’ with special instructions on what to do with both of them on Christmas Eve.
Exit through the Bubble Waffle Café where you can treat yourself to some festive goodies and a delicious Christmas bubble waffle. The experience concludes with a charming trip in your very own Cheshire Cat carriage on the Alice In Wonderland ride. It’s the closest experience to a real life wonderland.
The grotto will open at weekends from 20 November, Wednesday – Sunday throughout December and the whole week in the run-up to Christmas Eve. Tickets are £15.99, allowing up to two accompanying adults per child to enter the Grotto.
