This Christmas, Affinity Lancashire are set to transform the centre into an ICE-travaganza, with 6 weeks of events from 14th November – 26th December.

 
Affinity Lancashire are delighted to announce the launch of our free ice rink, to be officially opened by Dancing on Ice star Daniel Whiston on Thursday 14th November.

Join us between 5pm-8pm for an evening of festivity, with local choirs, festive refreshments and the chance to meet Daniel Whiston. The evening will be hosted by compare Mark Daniels who will also be joined by the ROCK FM street team.

An exclusive competition is set to be announced with the chance to win a free ice-skating lesson with Daniel Whiston on the evening of the launch. Keep watch on our social media channels for further information.

The ice rink, adjacent to Next Outlet overlooking the Marina, will be open to the general public 7 days a week throughout the festive period.

If skating isn’t the thing for you, give your family a magical start to Christmas with a visit to Santa’s Grotto. Santa will arrive on his sleigh from the North Pole on Saturday 16th November and will be welcomed by his biggest fan Buddy The Elf. Santa will then be here every Thursday, Saturday and Sunday for children to visit free of charge, before returning to the North Pole on Sunday 22nd December.

Santa grotto times is as follows:
Thursday: 2pm-8pm
Saturday: 10am-6pm
Sunday: 11am-5pm

To add to the festivities, each Saturday the centre is excited to be able to provide free entertainment for families to enjoy. Each weekend will offer different events which all contribute to the ICE-travaganza transformation across the centre. Entertainment will include Frozen 2 themed events with the famous ice princess skating on the ice rink, live ice sculpturing of Santa’s sleigh or the chance to step inside a winter wonderland with our walk in snow globe.

  • Saturday 30th November - Ice-skating princess
  • Saturday 7th December – Frozen themed event – character meet & greet
  • Saturday 14th December – Walk in snow globe
  • Saturday 21st December – Live ice sculpturing.
