Tickets Terms and Conditions

Terms & Conditions for Friday Admission to Blackpool’s Illuminations Switch-On 2026 on Friday 4 September

 

These Terms & Conditions apply to the free public ballot, Golden Circle ticket sales and accessible platform applications for Switch-On 2026 ("the Event"), organised by Blackpool Tourism Limited ("the Organiser").

By submitting a ballot application, purchasing tickets or attending the Event, applicants agree to these Terms & Conditions.

  1. General Information

    1. Switch-On 2026 will take place on Friday 04 September 2026 in Blackpool.

    2. The ballot application period will open and close on dates published by the Organiser.

    3. All tickets issued for the Event are digital tickets only.

    4. The Event is an outdoor standing event.

    5. The Organiser reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions where reasonably necessary.

    6. The Organiser reserves the right to alter the Event programme, timings, attractions, artists or line-up without prior notice.

  2. Free Public Ballot

    1. Applications to the public ballot are free of charge.

    2. A maximum of four (4) tickets may be requested per application.

    3. Successful applicants will be selected at random following the ballot closing date.

    4. Successful applicants will be notified by email and will have twenty-four (24) hours from notification to complete their order.

    5. Successful applicants will be required to pay a non-refundable £5.00 administration fee per order in order to claim their tickets.

    6. Failure to complete payment within the specified timeframe may result in tickets being released and reallocated without further notice.

    7. The administration fee is non-refundable except where required by law.

    8. Duplicate, fraudulent or multiple applications submitted by the same individual may be disqualified at the Organiser's discretion.

    9. A proportion of ballot tickets may be allocated to residents within designated postcode areas as determined by the Organiser.

    10. The Organiser reserves the right to undertake address verification and eligibility checks where reasonably required.

    11. All applicants, whether successful or unsuccessful, will be notified following completion of the ballot process.
       

Golden Circle

  1. A maximum of 5,000 Golden Circle tickets will be made available.

  2. Golden Circle tickets will be sold on a first come, first served basis and are not subject to a ballot.

  3. Golden Circle tickets are priced at £12.00 per ticket.

  4. Once tickets have been purchased, no refunds will be processed.

  5. ​A non-refundable £5.00 administration fee will apply per order. 

  6. A maximum of six (6) Golden Circle tickets may be purchased per transaction.

  7. Golden Circle tickets provide access to a designated viewing area located closest to the stage.

  8. ​Golden Circle tickets are subject to availability and may sell out without notice.

 

  1. Entry & Attendance

    1. Under 16s must be accompanied by a responsible adult aged 18 or over at all times.

    2. Proof of age may be requested upon entry.

    3. Strictly no admission without a valid ticket. Babe in arms also require a ticket.

    4. Tickets are non-transferable, non-exchangeable and may not be resold, transferred, advertised for resale or used for promotional or commercial purposes without the Organiser's prior written consent.

    5. Any ticket found to have been transferred, resold or obtained in breach of these Terms & Conditions may be cancelled without refund and entry refused.

    6. Attendees must retain their digital ticket at all times during the Event and produce it upon request.

    7. Admission is subject to compliance with these Terms & Conditions, venue regulations, licensing requirements, safety procedures and security checks.

    8. The Organiser reserves the right to refuse admission or remove any person whose behaviour is deemed unsafe, anti-social, abusive, intoxicated or otherwise inappropriate.

    9. Any person failing to comply with instructions from event staff, stewards, security personnel or emergency services may be refused entry or removed from the Event.

    10. Re-entry may not be permitted once attendees have left the Event site.

 

  1. Security & Prohibited Items

    1. Security searches may be carried out at entry points.

    2. The Organiser reserves the right to search all persons and personal property and refuse admission to, or remove from the Event, any person refusing to be searched.

    3. Backpacks, large bags, holdalls and suitcases may not be permitted within the Event site.

    4. Patrons with accessible or medical requirements may be considered on an individual basis and are encouraged to contact the Organiser in advance.

    5. A full list of prohibited items and entry requirements will be published in advance of the Event.

    6. Prohibited items may include, but are not limited to, weapons, fireworks, flares, smoke canisters, laser devices, glass bottles, cans, illegal substances and any item deemed dangerous or capable of causing disruption.

    7. Chairs, camping furniture and umbrellas will not be permitted within the Event site.

 

  1. Accessibility

    1. Applications for accessible viewing platform tickets will be managed separately from the general public ballot.

    2. Capacity for accessible viewing areas will be determined by the Organiser.

    3. Eligibility criteria and application procedures will be published separately in advance of the Event.

    4. Essential companion tickets will be issued in accordance with the Organiser's accessibility policy.

    5. Assistance dogs are permitted. No other animals will be allowed within the Event site.

 

  1. Event Changes & Cancellation

    1. The Organiser reserves the right to amend the Event programme, timings, ticket allocations or site arrangements where necessary.

    2. The Organiser reserves the right to cancel, postpone or curtail the Event where necessary due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control or where required for safety, operational or licensing reasons.

    3. In the event of cancellation, postponement or significant alteration to the Event, the Organiser's liability shall be limited to any refund obligations required by law.

    4. The Organiser accepts no responsibility for travel, accommodation or other associated costs incurred by attendees.

 

  1. Filming & Photography

    1. The Event may be filmed, photographed and recorded for broadcast, promotional, editorial and commercial purposes.

    2. By attending the Event, attendees consent to the use of their image and likeness in connection with such recordings without compensation.

 

  1. Liability

    1. Attendance at the Event is at the attendee's own risk.

    2. The Organiser shall not be liable for any loss, injury, damage, cost or expense suffered by any attendee except where arising from negligence or liability which cannot legally be excluded.

 

  1. Warnings

    1. The Event is an uncovered outdoor event and attendees should dress appropriately for weather conditions.

    2. Prolonged exposure to loud noise may cause damage to hearing.

    3. Smoke effects, strobe lighting, lasers and loud sound effects may be used during the Event.

 

  1. Data Protection

    1. Personal data supplied as part of the ballot, ticketing or accessibility application process will be processed by the Organiser and authorised ticketing partners for the purposes of administering the Event.

    2. Marketing consent is optional and will not affect ticket eligibility.

    3. Where consent is provided, marketing communications may be sent by Blackpool Tourism Limited and its associated companies in accordance with applicable data protection legislation.

 

  1. Acceptance

    1. Submission of a ballot application, purchase of a Golden Circle ticket or attendance at the Event constitutes acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
