Lightpool Festival

Thank you to everyone who joined us at Lightpool Festival to experience all the free-to-see entertainment filled with magic, music and illuminated magnificence!

From 14 - 29 October, the programme boasted 16 nights of light-based art installations, lasers, stunning live performances, family-friendly activities, and 3D projection shows involving local, national and international artists.

Art Trail

Lightpool Festival featured an impressive town centre art trail from the 18 October which saw outdoor spaces and iconic buildings transformed by spectacular light works, including a number of world and UK premieres.

Live Performances

Lightpool Festival once again featured a selection of gripping performances – from the carnival magic of Global Grooves, an explosion of dance, music and colour, to the iconic illuminated tram parade which celebrated the meaning of light and Blackpool’s glorious history.

Tower Projections

All the action unfolded as a series of stunning, digitally mapped multi-media shows were projected onto the historic Blackpool Tower building.

Spectators took their place on the Comedy Carpet directly opposite to enjoy the free-to-view spectacle.

Each autumn Grundy joins with the Blackpool Illuminations and the town’s Lightpool Festival to celebrate Blackpool’s season of light.
