Show Launches 13 June 2013 For 20 Week Run
Central Pier opens it summer season show tomorrow tonight (13 June) with the legendary Stars in Concert featuring worldwide stars from the Vegas strip to bring a touch of glamour to the resort this summer.
‘Stars in Concert Blackpool’ is a high-end, high-class production brought in from a successful run in both Berlin and Las Vegas. Featuring a cast of amazing tribute artists from around the globe the show will run for 20 weeks over the summer season in the Central Pier Show Bar.
Fans will pay just £14 per ticket during the opening month of June to take in the show, featuring five famous acts every night, including Marilyn Monroe alongside musical icons Rod Stewart, George Michael, Amy Winehouse and Little Richard as they belt out some of their greatest hits from past and present.
Central Pier has always been a destination for those looking for musical theatre with a difference and this year with the arrival of Stars in Concert fans will be able to get up close and personal with the stars, following the show, who mingle with the crowd for photos and autographs.
Stars In Concert production manager, Phil Roman, said: “We can’t wait to start our first summer season in Blackpool. We know that many people come here looking for an amazing night out with a difference, and what better way than to rock it up with Little Richard and marvel at our world-class Marilyn Monroe.
“We also have the best George Michael in the business to take you back to the 80s, and with Rod Stewart and Amy Winehouse for good measure, it has to be the best night out in Blackpool.
“The stars even get the audience involved in the show, and afterwards meet and greet everyone for photos and a chat. It’s like an all-star party with a VIP pass!”
Rob Jones, Central Pier’s General Manager, of Six Piers, said: “We cannot wait to begin the summer season in Blackpool as we know that many of the people come looking for an amazing night out with a difference. There is no better way to spend an evening than listening to the sultry tones of Marilyn and reliving the eighties with one of the best George Michaels around. The atmosphere that is created and with the stars meeting and greeting guests means that the experience is more like an all-star party than theatre!”
