Blackpool will welcome one of the North’s most beloved artisan events this spring, as The Makers Market makes its debut in the heart of the town centre.
The nationally acclaimed event, which is the result of a partnership between Blackpool BIDs and Blackpool Council, will take place for the first time on Sunday, May 25th, from 11am to 4pm, transforming St John’s Square into a celebration of local talent and creativity.
Celebrating the best of Lancashire’s artists, bakers, and designers, the monthly market will feature unique artisan products, freshly made food, free children’s workshops, live entertainment and family-friendly activities.
Sue Grindrod, Managing Director of Blackpool BIDs, said: “We’re proud to bring The Makers Market to St John’s Square. This event will create a space for small businesses and artisans to connect with locals and visitors, contributing to the local economy and offering high-quality products, delicious street food and a welcoming atmosphere. With support from key stakeholders, we’re confident it will become a much-loved town staple.”
The Makers Market has earned a loyal following across the North West for its lively street events featuring independent traders and artisan producers. In addition to the stalls, visitors can enjoy live performances from local musicians, food tastings and plenty of opportunities to support small, independent businesses.
Victoria Crane, Director of The Makers Market, added: “We’re excited to bring an eclectic mix of Lancashire’s finest artists, makers, bakers and designers to Blackpool, all to the soundtrack of local performers. This is a great opportunity to shop small, support local and discover unique, handmade goods from some of the North’s best artisans.”
