Caribbean restaurant and bar Turtle Bay are celebrating their impending arrival in Blackpool at the end of June with a FREE Caribbean pop-up BBQ on the Festival Headland, taking place on Friday 23rd June. Paying tribute to Turtle Bay’s Caribbean roots, as well as the brand new coastal location, fans will get to experience the magic of the Caribbean, right in front of the iconic Blackpool Tower. Turtle Bay’s “Surfside to Seaside''experience will include specially built beach huts, jerk chicken cooked to perfection on a BBQ, refreshing drinks, plenty of deck chairs and a stunning sea view.
Turtle Bay’s story began in a beach bar called Surfside, many years ago in Barbados. Set on beautiful white sand and looking out onto turquoise waters, Surfside served freshly made, local cuisine and cool, fresh cocktails made with local rum. The team wanted to bring the experience to the UK and so, Turtle Bay was born. Now, Turtle Bay is recreating this special place on Blackpool’s iconic coastline for a legendary day of rum, reggae, and jerk.
Team Turtle Bay will be bringing a taste of the Caribbean to one of the country’s most famous seaside resorts and landmarks from 12PM-6PM. With the help of the master of Caribbean cooking, Turtle Bay’s Executive Chef, Collin Brown, the team will be slinging FREE sizzling samples of their famous jerk chicken wings, as well as serving tasters of signature cocktails from rum brand Cockspur. There’ll also be plenty of specially made Turtle Bay Tropical Rock being handed out, as Turtle Bay get into the spirit of their new home by the sea and pay tribute to Blackpool’s most iconic seaside treat.
Fans who manage to get their hands on the rock will also be given sign-up access and the chance to secure an exclusive sneak preview of Turtle Bay Blackpool before its official opening on the ground floor of Forshaw’s Hotel in Talbot Square.
To join in with the free celebrations, Turtle Bay fans simply need to head over to the Tower Festival Headland by following the spicy BBQ aromas, laid back reggae beats, and the traditional Barbadian beach shack! The Turtle Bay team will be offering up FREE island-inspired treats all throughout the day, but once they’re gone, they’re gone.
