Spooky Halloween arrival at SEA LIFE Blackpool

What fish could be more perfect to arrive at SEA LIFE Blackpool this Halloween than ten spooky Batfish?
True to their name these eerie looking fish are entirely black, except for an illuminating yellow edging, they love to hang around coral rich areas in large schools. An intimidating sight for fellow inhabitants and passers by.
Visitors to SEA LIFE Blackpool this October will be able to see what mischief the new fish cause around the nooks and crannies of the Ocean Tank.
Jenn Newton, SEA LIFE Blackpool General Manager said, ‘We’re looking forward to welcoming our new spooky residents, and introducing them to our new Ocean Tank.’
Often growing up to an impressive 50cm, this particular breed of Orbicular Batfish can be found throughout the Indo-Pacific in places such as East Africa, Southern Japan and Northern Australia.
To welcome the new spooky SEA LIFE residents and to get into the Halloween spirit, the first 50 children who arrive in fancy dress on 31 October will get free entry!
Jenn said, ‘Halloween is all about joining in the fun and we love to welcome people in fancy dress. The team here enjoy dressing up for Halloween too so we’ll be donning bat wings and witches hats to join in the fun.’
