There are many restaurants in Blackpool to choose from, but where do you go if you fancy a pizza?
Of course, here in Blackpool, we are fortunate to have restaurant chains, such as Bella Italia and Pizza Hut on our doorstep. However, if you are looking for an independent Italian restaurant in Blackpool, we’ve rounded up a checklist on where you can go for a slice of the action!
Stefani’s
Stefani’s Pizzeria is a family-run pizza joint in Blackpool’s bustling town centre. Located in Cedar Square, the location is perfect for a bite to eat before seeing a show at the Winter Gardens when restrictions ease. All their ingredients are imported from Napoli and their pizzas are stone-baked in their very own pizza oven. To top it off, they've claimed the Number One pizza place on TripAdvisor. Their motto is ‘Stefani’s is always a good idea’ and we can vouch that they are absolutely right!
When they reopen after lockdown, make a reservation over on Stefani's website or call 01253 297185. Takeaways are currently available.
Casa Franco
Craving pizza after an exhilerating day at Blackpool Pleasure Beach? You're in luck! Just a couple of blocks away from the UK's most ride intensive theme park, you'll find Casa Franco situated between an ice cream stall and a palm reader's hut.
Bask in the sea view as you tuck into a hearty Italian meal when restrictions ease. Menu wise, there really is something for everyone - from Italian staples to a choice of freshly-prepared meats. Walk off your meal with a stroll down the beautiful Promenade and make sure you take a picture of the breath-taking sunset.
When they reopen after lockdown, call 01253 298662 to make a reservation.
Ambrosini’s
Make sure you head to Ambrosini’s when you are next in town. At the time of writing, their restaurant is rated number six out of more than 500 restaurants in Blackpool on TripAdvisor!
Their thin, crispy dough subtly gives way to the flavour of the Italian tomatoes and toppings, including their Lucia Special with toppings such as chicken, pepperoni, ham and smoked bacon. Water it down with one of their classic Italian wines or liquor for a true taste of Italy.
When they reopen after lockdown, call 01253 298807 to make a reservation. Takeaways are available on selected days.
Amaro
This is another Italian located in the town centre that you need to tick off your list. Situated on the corner of Church Street, it is around a 30 second walk to the Winter Gardens, making it ideal for a pre-show meal.
Their extensive menu means that every diner can find something that satisfies their taste. Just like all the other restaurants listed here, we of course recommend booking in advance, especially during the weekends.
Make a reservation for when they re-open by calling 01253 299644. Takeaways are available on selected days.
Ciao Ciao
Though not located in the town centre, Ciao Ciao is not to be forgotten. Their pizza is second to none and, similarly to Stefani's, the open kitchen adds to the lively atmosphere. We recommend their cheesy Magherita – after all, it’s a classic! There are around 20 seats in the restaurant, so it is best to book in advance to avoid disappointment after lockdown.
Takeaways and delivery are available on selected days. To make a reservation for when they reopen, call 01253 283535.
Sapori
Sapori, located on Clifton Street, is a family-run joint and a big hit with the locals. The owners are from Sicily and the Executive Chef has more than 25 years' experience working in some of the most popular restaurants across the area, so rest assured you are in good hands.
Their pizzas are juicy and flavoursome with a generous helping of cheese. They also have an early-bird menu for two courses for the price of £12.95* so there is no excuse not to visit when lockdown lifts!
