Smash hit comedy Desperate Scousewives is set to bring big laughs to the Fylde Coast when it comes to Blackpool Grand Theatre for one night only on Wednesday 10 June 2026, as part of its first ever nationwide tour.
Benidorm and I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! star Crissy Rock heads the fabulous all‑female cast as Lily in the hilarious show, which plays 20 dates at 18 venues across the UK. The Blackpool performance is part of a fantastic five‑week tour taking in theatres across the country.
Desperate Scousewives: Lily’s Story is written, directed and stars Lynne Fitzgerald, with a talented cast that also includes Lynn Francis and Samantha Alton.
An acclaimed series of four plays, Desperate Scousewives follows the lives of a quartet of vibrant characters, with each story told from a different woman’s perspective. In Lily’s Story, audiences can expect a riotous, fast‑paced comedy following the lives of three no‑nonsense Liverpool women and one nervous newcomer, as they navigate life, love, loyalty and lipstick on a tightly knit street.
Susan, Vanessa and Lily dominate the road with their big personalities, big voices and even bigger secrets. But everything is turned upside down with the arrival of Trisha — a single mum from Manchester — who finds herself thrown into the lion’s den of long‑established friendships and fierce loyalty.
Crissy Rock is Lily. Best known as one of the standout stars of ITV’s hit series Benidorm, and a multi‑award‑winning comedian, Crissy Rock is hailed by fans as one of the most outstanding and outrageous stand‑up performers of her generation. From her blisteringly funny takes on useless partners (well, men in general) to her journey through the onset of middle age, Crissy’s non‑stop blasts of comedy brilliance hit the right note every time.
Lynne Fitzgerald plays Susan. A celebrated Liverpool actress, writer and director, Lynne is best‑known for creating the hit comedy quartet Desperate Scousewives. She has written more than ten stage plays and has appeared in hugely successful touring productions including Twopence to Cross the Mersey and By the Waters of Liverpool. A former stand‑up comedian, Lynne is admired for her impeccable timing and expressive comedy style, capturing the heart, humour and spirit of Merseyside life.
Lynn Francis plays Tricia. Lynn has worked extensively in theatre, most notably at Liverpool’s Royal Court, appearing in productions such as Ladies Day, Mam! I’m ’Ere!, Reds and Blues, Haunted Scouse and Anfield Apocalypse. She has also toured nationally in By the Waters of Liverpool and appeared in previous productions of Desperate Scousewives.
Samantha Alton appears as Vanessa. A Liverpudlian actress with over a decade of professional experience, Samantha’s career spans stage, screen and voiceover work. She previously played ‘Nessa’ in Desperate Scousewives in 2024 and has recently appeared in touring productions including Irish Annie’s, Under the Mersey Moon and Kitty, Queen of the Washhouse.
Desperate Scousewives is brought to the stage by Bill Elms Productions, whose previous productions include Judy & Liza, Irish Annie’s, Jerry Springer the Opera, Something About George and Something About Lennon.
Writer and performer Lynne Fitzgerald said:
“I’m thrilled to be taking Desperate Scousewives on tour. Each show stands alone, yet together they create the full, hilarious world I envisioned. I always wrote Lily with Crissy Rock in mind, so having her perform the role on tour really is the pinnacle of my writing career.”
Producer Bill Elms added:
“Desperate Scousewives has been a huge hit whenever it’s been staged in the Liverpool City Region, and I’m excited to now be sharing Lynne’s fantastic comedy with audiences right across the country. I know theatregoers in Blackpool are going to love these ‘liver birds’ just as much as we do.”
