Izzy, wizzy let’s meet Sooty!
The small yellow puppet is planning an extra special visit to Blackpool during October half-term to meet as many youngsters as possible before his appearance at Showzam! in 2014.
Showzam! is Blackpool’s annual February festival celebrating Circus, Magic and New Variety and Sooty will be the star next year with two spectacular shows planned at the resort’s Opera House.
But before then Sooty, who was “born” in Blackpool in 1948, is returning home on Tuesday October 29 with right-hand man Richard Cadell to meet visitors at the VisitBlackpool Tourist Information Centre.
Youngsters are being urged to complete the Sooty colour-in sheets available at www.showzam.co.uk and to take them along on the day for a chance to win a family ticket to the show.
Marketing Blackpool Events Organiser Chris Pope said: “Everyone’s really excited about the return of Sooty to Blackpool for Showzam! but we thought it would be a great idea to bring him to the resort during October half-term too as this is such a busy time of year.”
Sooty will be at the Tourist Information Centre at Festival House on the Promenade between 10am and 12pm on Tuesday October 29.
Anyone buying tickets for the Sooty show that day can also purchase 2-for-1 tickets for The Hogwallops – a family targeted show featuring the unusual and grotesque Hogwallop Family at the Grand Theatre during Showzam!
Tickets for Sooty at Blackpool Opera House are available from www.showzam.co.uk, www.visitblackpool.com, VisitBlackpool Tourist Information Centre, Blackpool Winter Gardens Box Office, TicketMaster 0844 856 1111 or by calling 01253 478222.
Tickets* are priced £6.99 for children (U14), £9.99 for adults and £27.99 for a family ticket for four people (two adults & two children or one adult & three children). Under 2’s free (sitting on an adult’s knee).
