Got a pooch? Then bring your dog, family and friends to the BARK in Stanley Park event for a free fun filled day.
The BARK event will be held on Sunday 18 August from 11am-3pm next to the Model Village.
Activities to join in include Heel Work to Music, Tower Dog Training, Children B Dog Smart and Agility sessions.
The Fylde K9 Dancers & Tricks will be providing entertainment while the Kennel Club will be on hand to offer puppy training tips.
Health checks and microchipping for £10 will be available at the PSDA veterinary charity stand on the day and the Homeless Hounds charity who rehome stray dogs will also be attending.
The fun day is being organised by BARK (The Blackpool Association for Responsible K9’s and their humans). The association is an initiative working to promote responsible dog ownership in Blackpool.
Nigel Patterson Chairman of BARK and a Friend of Stanley Park, said: “We are pleased to announce that we have formed a partnership with Blackpool Orders for Dog Control Action Group, Tower Dog Club, Friends of Stanley Park and Blackpool Council.
“The aim is to improve and promote responsible dog ownership throughout Blackpool. The BARK event in Stanley Park will be fun and family orientated. We hope to promote BARK and to educate the public regarding dog related issues.”
Cllr Maria Kirkland, Cabinet Member responsible for Community Cohesion and Leisure, added: “This event promises to be a great day out for dog owners and dog lovers and those who just want to watch the fun activities of our canine friends.
“Stanley Park as always is such a wonderful location to hold events and I congratulate everyone who has worked so hard to organise BARK in Stanley Park.”
