Theatres & Shows / What's On Aladdin the pantomime at Pleasure Beach 20 February 2020 by Visit Blackpool Stageworks Worldwide Productions are delighted to announce that they will be staging their first ever pantomime at The Globe, Blackpool Pleasure Beach this Christmas. The first show, which will open in November 2020 is the timeless classic, Aladdin. The show will comprise of 46 performances between 21st November and 24th December, with many of them specially timed so that schools can enjoy this wonderful show. Aladdin is one of the most magical pantomimes ever written. It tells the story of a streetwise boy from Peking who finds a strange lamp at the market with hidden powers. But the wicked wizard Abanazar wants to steal Aladdin’s magic lamp to help him become the most powerful wizard in the world. He also wants to kidnap the beautiful Princess and make her his bride. Follow Aladdin's adventures as he gets entangled in the struggle of good and evil and defies the law to rescue the Princess assisted by his mother Widow Twanky and her hapless assistant Wishee Washee. Will Aladdin save the day and find true love? Will the Princess tell her father the Emperor of Abanazar’s evil plot? Will the Widow Twanky ever get her washing done? You’ll have to sit back, clap your hands, cheer, boo and enjoy the story of Aladdin to find out. Aladdin is brought to you by Stageworks Worldwide Productions and is written and directed by Roger Hannah. Amanda Thompson OBE is Executive Producer/Director with Alexa Robinson acting as Assistant Director. The show is choreographed by Lynsey Brown. The full cast will be announced soon.
