A range of accredited Blackpool hotels have been honoured as part of the 2015 Travellers Choice Awards.
The Doric on Queen’s Promenade, the Premier Inn on Yeadon Way, the Big Blue Hotel at Blackpool Pleasure Beach and Clifton Court Hotel on Clifton Drive have all been highly ranked in the family category in the list compiled by Trip Advisor.
The Doric is described as “fabulous” while the Premier Inn is described as “very good value for money while The Big Blue Hotel is said to be “marvellous” and one customer said The Clifton Court Hotel was “a little gem”.
The Kenley and Cherry Tree House Hotel, meanwhile, were rated in the top 25 B&Bs.
Cllr Graham Cain, Blackpool Council’s cabinet member for tourism and leisure, said: “This is fantastic news for Blackpool as the UK’s most popular family resort.
“We are the only British seaside resort with multiple hotels in this category and that is a great credit to the hotels concerned.
“There was a significant increase in the number of overnight stays in Blackpool last year (1) thanks to the huge improvements which have been made to our attractions, our Promenade and our tourism offer in general and we are determined to continue that improvement.
“As our campaign says, Blackpool’s Back, and I would encourage people to come and see that for themselves.”
