Grey, drizzly weather? Not inside the tropics of Sandcastle Waterpark!
British weather is rarely pleasant this time of year, but at the Sandcastle Waterpark, the temperature is a constant, sub-tropical 84°F! Close your eyes to hear the splash of the waves and feel the heat on your skin and you could be on an idyllic sandy beach.
Better yet, keep your eyes open and explore the 18 fantastic attractions that this indoor paradise has to offer! Sail the seven seas on the tremendous HMS Thundersplash, rock to and fro in the Typhoon Lagoon and brave the Masterblaster – the UK’s only water rollercoaster!
Prefer to lessen the space? Grab a rubber ring and be gently carried around Ushi Gushi River Creek, or add-on admission to the Sea Breeze Spa for a small fee. Relax in the aromatherapy room, salt inhalation room, steam room and sauna, and be sure to enjoy the lap of luxury with the foot spas and heated loungers.
Open on weekends until February half term. They also have an accessibility evening every month. These evenings are ideal for children who may find it difficult to visit during a normal operational day.
Have some splashing good fun!
Get your hungry hands on some great dining offers
Did you know some Blackpool restaurants are offering some fantastic January dining offers? Las Iguanas are offering 2 for 1 mains from Sunday - Thursday. Get 40% off your total bill at The Beach House and there's even 50% off main courses at Bella Italia.
Go INTO the blue at SEA LIFE Blackpool
What’s more serene than spending a few hours amongst some of nature’s most amazing sea life? Rather than spending Blue Monday worrying about money or being out in the rain, explore the mysterious and graceful world of the stingrays, make friends with starfish and meet turtles, chameleons and frogs in the peaceful, leafy jungle at SEA LIFE Blackpool.
The mesmerising ocean walk-through tunnel lets you experience life under the sea without getting wet. Want a more immersive experience? You can come along and have a sleepover with the sharks, or even get in the tank and have a swim with them!
Be charmed in the Blackpool Tower Ballroom
It doesn’t matter what the weather is like outside, nothing can detract from the glorious opulence of the Blackpool Tower Ballroom.
Your spirits will certainly be lifted when you hear the cheery music of the legendary Wurlitzer organ and you see the dancers twirling away in such a beautiful setting. If you would like some extra indulgence, the Blackpool Tower Ballroom can provide a marvellous afternoon tea.
Feeling bold? Grab a partner, hop onto the dancefloor and foxtrot those blues away! The rest of Blackpool Tower is also open, so make a day of it!
Please note: the Tower Ballroom will re-open on the 25th January after its annual clean-up.
The Tourist Information Centre in Festival House on Blackpool Promenade (just opposite The Blackpool Tower) is open for business! Our friendly team are there to give you great information on all things related to Britain’s favourite beach resort, and sell discounted tickets to your favourite attractions. Pop by and say hello!
January can be roar-some!
Even if the weather isn’t behaving, you shouldn’t be put off from paying a visit to Blackpool Zoo! The zoo is open every day, and is a perfect way to spend a January afternoon. There are plenty of indoor exhibits where you can interact with and learn about the range of fantastic animals here. What better way to cheer up this dreary month than by getting some face time with these cute critters?
See? Blackpool needn't be gloomy. We're looking forward to making some great memories with you in 2020!
