Do you have a passion for amazing architecture and fascinating theatrical history?
Don't miss this fantastic opportunity to be given unrivalled access to Blackpool Grand's glorious Grade II* listed building, which is not normally open for the public to view at their leisure.
Please note – this is not a guided tour but is an incredible opportunity to step inside and gaze in wonder at Matcham's Victorian masterpiece as they observe the cantilevered tiers or circles, boxes and pit – and the complete visibility of every seat in this atmospheric house. Visitors will revel in the stunning scenery in the theatre's spectacular auditorium, which was meticulously crafted by flamboyant architect Frank Matcham and opened on the 23rd of July 1894 at a time when theatre building and Matcham's work was at their height. The Grand was built in just nine months at a cost of £20,000.
Three FREE 30-minute tours will also be on offer during the morning at 10am, 11am & 12 noon – maximum of 20 people – and MUST be booked in advance. Search catalogue for Grand Theatre Heritage Tours for booking information.
Refreshments are also available in the Stalls Bar from 10am to 2pm.
