Crystal Tide

A mirrored lighthouse stands amongst towering crystal shards that shimmer in sunlight and glow with the colours of the Northern Lights after dark. Reflections dance across the landscape as light, sound and drifting mist continually transform the installation, revealing something different with every visit. 

Inspired by melting ice caps and rising sea levels, Crystal Tide imagines a future where the familiar coastline has been reshaped by a changing climate. The work balances wonder with quiet reflection, inviting visitors to experience both the beauty and fragility of our planet without telling them what to think.  

Like a lighthouse itself, the installation becomes a beacon encouraging us to notice what is changing, what may be lost, and what is still worth protecting.

Artist: Anne Bennett

Anne Bennett is a UK based contemporary light artist whose large scale installations explore the beauty and fragility of the natural world. Combining sculpture, light, sound and atmosphere, she creates artworks that invite people of all ages to pause, look closer and see familiar places in new ways. 

Inspired by climate science and our changing environment, Anne transforms complex environmental ideas into experiences filled with wonder rather than fear. She believes people are more likely to protect what they find beautiful, and hopes her work inspires curiosity, conversation and a deeper connection with the world around us.

Anne's installations have been exhibited at festivals and cultural venues across the UK and internationally, including the Eden Project and Spectra Aberdeen.
