Cannes - 'Indigenes' PremiereWe are giving you one last chance to secure a place at what promises to be one of the biggest Illuminations Switch-On nights in Blackpool’s history! A limited number of FREE wristbands for the star-studded Friday night are being released with discounted Saturday and Sunday night tickets.

To claim your wristband all you have to do is purchase a ticket for the Vintage Pop night on Saturday 5 September or the Comedy Night on Sunday 6 September at the discounted price of £10 per person (saving £5 per ticket!!!) and you will get a Friday night switch on wristband absolutely FREE, on a first come first served basis.

That’s two unmissable events for just £10! On the Friday night expect British boy band The Vamps headlining with the legendary Hollywood director Tim Burton pulling that famous switch. The Saturday Vintage Pop night includes performances from some of the best acts from the 80s and 90s including Bananarama, Jason Donovan and many more. Closing the weekend will be a Sunday night of live comedy hosted by Al Murray and bill of top stand-up comedians. For a full line up of each event click here.

Friday 4th September – Tim Burton to Switch-On the 2015 Blackpool Illuminationsacts

The Vamps, Lawson, Professor Green, Toploader, Little Boots, Only the Young and Becky Hill are all set to perform. Recently added to this already impressive line-up are Jedward, Alexa Goddard, Nicholas McDonald, Jack Walton, Bailey McConnell, Tiger Heart, Room 94 and Gabz.

We can now reveal that Hollywood royalty, Tim Burton, is to switch on this year’s Blackpool Illuminations. The legendary film director has been a regular visitor in Blackpool in recent years choosing to shoot scenes for US band The Killers music video “Here with Me” and his latest film, “Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children,” in the resort.

The Friday night Switch-On kicks off an exciting weekend of events at the Blackpool Tower Festival Headland between Friday 4 and Sunday 6 September with something for everyone to enjoy.

Friday night registration has now closed, but you can still guarantee a Friday wristband by buying a limited number of special tickets on sale now. To purchase these, please call in to the Tourist Information Centre, located on the Promenade.

Gates: Gates will  be open 4pm approx
Show Starts: Entertainment will begin from approx 5pm
Finish: The show will close between 9.45pm-10pm.

Saturday 5th September – Morning 

cbbc_blackpoolSaturday morning will see children’s TV favourite CBBC decamping to Blackpool for a morning of special programmes.

The popular channel will be broadcasting live from the resort bringing a host of kids’ TV stars for a morning of fun-packed programming on Saturday September 5.

Alongside the live broadcast, there will be a special family show taking place on the Promenade. Ten thousand tickets are available to members of the public. Those attending will get a preview of the brand new CBBC show Danger Mouse: Attack of the Toilets, the much-anticipated remake of the 1980s’cartoon. Blue Peter presenter Barney Harwood, who is from Blackpool, will also be on hand to greet fans. 

CBBC will also be celebrating the 30th anniversary of children’s TV presentation – the bits in between the programmes. Shout Out Saturday will broadcast live from Blackpool Promenade. PLEASE NOTE THIS EVENT IS NOW FULLY BOOKED.

Saturday 5th September – Evening

All together 80's

iFest Saturday Vintage Pop – The evening will be presented by legendary Fun House star Pat Sharp who is set to bring “a whole lot of fun” to Blackpool iFest’s Saturday night show which is being held in association with Vintage TV.

The TV and radio star will welcome top vintage pop names to the stage including Bananarama, Jason Donovan, Paul Young, Limahl, Owen Paul, Jive Bunny and T’Pau, for a night that is sure to have a fun, party feel.

Tickets only £10 (booking fee’s apply), and are only available in person from the Tourist Information Centre, located on the Promenade.

Sunday 6th September – Evening 

Comedy Line UpAl Murray – The Pub Landlord – brings comedy to Blackpool’s newest piece of public art – the Comedy Carpet – for the first time ever.

The event will feature an hour-long set from Murray as well as performances from a number of other leading stand-up stars, including Chris Ramsey, Alun Cochrane, Tiff Stevenson, Carl Hutchinson and Craig Campbell.

The 2200 metre squared Comedy Carpet, which features iconic jokes and catchphrases from the most famous names in the comedy world, will make up a large part of the arena floor at the Blackpool Tower Festival Headland.

Tickets only £10 (booking fee’s apply), and are only available in person from the Tourist Information Centre, located on the Promenade.

Disabled Access –  On all three nights there will be a platform for disabled guests, this is operated on a first come first served basis, and is for you and one carer.
