3. Blackpool is famous for it’s nightlife and that means it’s a great place to meet up and head out on the town! Whether you want a great bar, a lively pub or a pulsating club, there’s sure to be somewhere to spend time with your friends and rip up the dance floor! 4. Visit the resort in September to experience the lights fantastic! Not only can you catch Blackpool’s world-famous illuminations , but there are also massive free firework displays during the month as the World Firework Championships hits town – the perfect start to a night out.

5. White-knuckle-seekers can experience the adrenalin of the Pepsi Max Big One, Infusion and other thrilling rides to set the pulse racing at the world-famous Pleasure Beach Resort.

You have to book early for concerts in Blackpool, but if you’ve ever experienced the thrill of a live band in the stunning Empress or Tower ballroom you’ll know why – these are just not venues you’ll see every day. With visits from the likes of The Prodigy, Will Young, The Killers, Biffy Clyro, Pendulum and the Kooks, there’s something to suit all tastes. There’s also a chance to see top acts FOR FREE on the Illuminations Switch On weekend in September – last year Pixie Lott, Madness, JLS, Mika, Daniel Merriweather and more, all paid us a visit!

7. If you're a real  fashionista then don't miss Blueberries on Topping Street where there are two floors of bargain fashion clothing and accessories on offer.

8. Experience the heady colour, showbiz and style of Showzam – a celebration of circus, magic, new variety and film, which takes place for 10 days every February in the resort. It’s a great time to visit if you love things to be a little bit dramatic – and this year features the brilliant La Clique in the Tower Circus – at a fraction of the price you’ll pay elsewhere!
