Blackpool has something to offer the sports fan throughout the year, from Championship football at Bloomfield Road, home of the Seasiders, to summer cricket at Stanley Park.

May is a great month for athletes – with Beaverbrook’s annual 10k run on the promenade and the Blackpool Marathon attracting runners from far and wide.

Blackpool was one of the first towns to be awarded Cycle Town status and in recognition of this,  the Tour of Britain comes to the resort once again on 11 September 2010, bringing the crème de la crème of the world’s riders, along with a host of associated events and activities.

In August the impressive Nocturne adds to Blackpool’s cycling calendar with a spectacular 1km night race around the streets beneath the world famous tower and an evening of free sport.
