Families
There’s no better place for family fun than Blackpool - where we have a great calendar of events and shows to keep any family entertained throughout the year.
Be dazzled by the amazing skills of the skaters at Pleasure Beach Resort’s Hot Ice Show (14 July – 5 September); or take in one of the regular changing shows at the Grand Theatre and Opera House; and don’t forget to leave some time to see the Blackpool Tower & Circus (27 March – 7 November), which has been entertaining children and adults alike for generations.
Be amazed by the legendary aerobatic skills of the Red Arrows at Blackpool’s Annual Airshow on 8 August, or gaze into the night sky and watch a myriad of colours explode during the World Fireworks Champion of Champions between 10-12 September.
As a Cycling Town, Blackpool has cycling at its heart, so the more energetic of you don’t miss the Tour of Britain North West Stage Finish in Blackpool on 11 September; or the hugely popular Blackpool Nocturne which sees world-class cyclists compete on an illuminated circuit in front of the famous Blackpool Tower on 7 August. Want to see the Blackpool Illuminations at close hand? Well you can when the promenade will be closed for one night only allowing cyclists to Ride the Lights on 31 August.
Of course there can be no greater family event than the award-winning Blackpool Illuminations when your little ones can be amazed by the greatest free show on earth between 3 September – 7 November 2010.
