The country’s largest theatre, with a seating capacity of almost 3000, the Opera House is a famous venue.

It has seen performances from the world’s greatest entertainers and shows, ever since it opened in 1939.

has been further increased from their sold-out, critically acclaimed summer 2009 concert at London's O2 Arena. It's a multi-media performance including an incredible, evolving cubist stage set, amazing projections, stunning choreography and dancers and extraordinary costumes.

Best of British Variety Tour 2010

The Best Of British Variety Tour is back for its third consecutive year in 2010 after the huge success of the last two years.

Brought to you by Tony Denton Promotions this unique tour unites the cream of variety entertainment from past decades. After popular demand Paul Daniels and The Krankies who took
part in the inaugural tour return to Best of British alongside the host for the show the irrepressible Christopher Biggins, Irish singer Dana, The Grumbleweeds and for the first time as a solo act one half of one of the most famous comedy double acts since comedy began Syd Little of Little & Large fame.

The tour starts on 13th August for the first of two nights at the Blackpool Opera House and culminates on 28th September at Buxton’s Opera House.

Following her smash hit appearance in 2008, Jane McDonald, much loved singer, Loose Women host and star of BBC show The Cruise, returns to The Opera House on Easter Sunday, the 12th of April 2009.
