Categories: Press Releases - Latest
Sandcastle Waterpark, Blackpool is the UK’s Largest Indoor Waterpark and with 18 slides and attractions it is easy to see why Sandcastle Waterpark continues to make a splash.
Sandcastle Waterpark will, on the 3rd February 2012 at 7.30pm, unveil these eagerly awaited new waterslides. Bedecked in traditional Aztec regalia, “Othrim” will perform a traditional blessing on the new Aztec Slides, utilising the elements of earth, air, fire and water. Smudging incense, ritual drumming and fire breathing will evoke the Aztec spirits to watch over and bless the new attraction. Montezuma and his Aztec Warriors, entourage and chanting band will also be making a guest appearance at the event
The specially invited guests will be invited to be some of the first to try the new rides. The slides will be open to the public from Saturday 4 February
And now for some more information about the slides:
Aztec Falls
Enter the temple of AZTEC FALLS and be prepared to drop into a steep dark chute, followed by an electrifying chasm, then descending into a corkscrew exit!
- Just under 150 metres wide
- A 16.3m drop
- 107m long (with 3 revolutions in the bowl would be 370ft)
- Aztec Falls is a Capped Cannon Bowl which is quite unique; Worldwide, there are only two other installations like it (One in Australia and one in the US).
Montazooma
Hold on tight as you zoom head first down 360 degree loops and back to back turns!
- Average length of time from top to bottom is 22 seconds
- 133m long
Both slides will launch from the roof of the Waterpark and plummet down outside the building, splashing back into a newly created area, which is currently at the main entrance!!
Sandcastle Waterpark is open all year round and welcomes families from all over the world. For more information please visit www.sandcastle-waterpark.co.uk
