Britain’s funniest comedian KEN DODD OBE returns to Blackpool’s Grand Theatre from Sunday 2nd October.
Ken Dodd OBE is once again leaving the Diddy Men in the Jam Butty Mines of Knotty Ash to bring the ‘longest stand up comedy routine ever’ back to Blackpool’s Grand Theatre every Sunday from 2nd October – 6th November.
An evening full of plumptiousness is promised from Professor Chucklebutty, who has been honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the prestigious British Comedy Awards and also features in the Guinness Book of Records for telling 1,500 jokes in three and a half hours. That’s more than seven jokes a minute!
Britain’s top mirth maker is also a celebrated recording artist, releasing several albums of love songs and notching up 19 top 40 hits, including the 1965 chart-topper Tears (number ten in the top twenty best selling records of all time) as well as his signature tune Happiness.
Ken has been awarded the OBE for his services to show business and charity. He is a patron of the Grand Theatre, Blackpool, an Honorary Fellow of Liverpool John Moores University and was the first recipient of the prestigious ‘Living Legend’ award from The British Comedy Society. In 2003 Ken was voted The Greatest Merseysider of all time – beating John Lennon and Paul McCartney!
Now in his 53rd year of playing to sell out crowds in Blackpool expect an evening full of plumptiousness from the professor of Giggleology.
Neil Thomson, Grand Theatre General Manager, has repeatedly said; ‘Ken’s energy, mirth and love for the theatre business never ceases to amaze me.’
Ken Dodd returns to the Grand Theatre every Sunday from 2nd October – 6th November at 7pm. Tickets from £17.
