Tarby Returns To Blackpool Following Last Year’s Success!

11th August 2011

Categories: Press Releases - Latest

Jimmy Tarbuck returns to Blackpool’s Grand Theatre this summer on Sunday 14th August.

Top television comedian Jimmy Tarbuck (or Tarby as he is known to millions of viewers) brings his anecdotal wit to the Grand Theatre for one night of fantastically funny comedy.

Jimmy Tarbuck at Blackpool Grand TheatreHaving successfully spent more than 40 years in the notoriously fickle world of showbusiness, Jimmy Tarbuck has hosted numerous television shows, variety shows, chat shows and game shows. His cheeky grin and boy next door charms have won him an army of fans far away from his native Liverpool.

Spotted whilst working as a Butlin’s Redcoat Jimmy made his TV debut aged 22 on Comedy Bandbox. By the time he was 25 he was the resident compere on Sunday Night at the Palladium.

After this amazing start to his career Jimmy was soon in demand headlining variety shows as well as starring in his own television shows and was rarely off the screen during the 1970s and 1980s.

Jimmy is still in demand as one of Britain’s best cabaret artistes and after dinner speakers as well as a popular TV guest.

However, Tarby is at his best in front of a live audience and during his return date in Blackpool he will be sharing anecdotes, demonstrating his quick fire wit and thoroughly entertaining the audience.

Jimmy Tarbuck returns to the Grand Theatre on Sunday 14th August, 7.30pm. Seats are just £20.00.

Don’t forget that stand up comedy continues to shine at Blackpool’s Grand Theatre throughout 2011. The Comedians, starring Jim Bowen, Frank Carson, Stan Boardman, Mick Miller and Duggie Brown plus special guest Roy Walker, will be celebrating their 40th anniversary every Friday from 5th – 26th August. The UK’s top ventriloquist Paul Zerdin will introduce you to some of his friends on Monday 15th August. Or why not enter the “crazy world” of Joe Pasquale on Sunday 28th August? One of Britain’s best loved entertainers, Des O’Connor, brings an evening of comedy, laughter and music on Sunday 4th September and Jason Byrne, with his inspired and original brand of high-energy lunacy, will take to the stage on Friday 16th September. Perrier Award winner Reginald D Hunter brings his American-style comedy to Blackpool audiences on Sunday 25th September. One of Britain’s brightest comedy stars Justin Moorhouse who performed a guest spot on Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow live from the Grand will return for one night only on Monday 26th September. Of course summer wouldn’t be summer in Blackpool without the return of the “Master of Mirth and Merriment” Ken Dodd with his Happiness Show on Sundays 2nd, 9th, 16th and 30th October and Sunday 6th November. Mike Harding brings an evening of songs, daft stories on monologues on Saturday 12th November while Jerry Sadowitz takes to the stage with his unique blend of comedy and magic on Sunday 20th November. On 27th November Milton Jones will bring his witty one liners to the Grand for the very first time.
