With Christmas lights from the team responsible for the world-famous Illuminations, entertainment from world-class artists and much, much more, Blackpool is the ONLY place for Christmas shopping in an electric winter wonderland.

Join the crowds in the heart of the resort in the St John's area on Saturday 19 November when 97.4 Rock FM host this festival event with special guest star recording artist Tinchy Stryder, flicking the famous switch to turn on this year's glitzy Christmas Illuminations.

MOBO award winner, Tinchy, who is known worldwide for his smash hits including ‘Number 1’ and ‘Take Me Back’, is currently about to embark on his nationwide ‘Rollercoaster’ tour so what better place to switch on the Christmas lights, than the rollercoaster capital of the UK, Blackpool!

There'll also be performances from X Factor finalist Jonjo Kerr, local rock band Boomin, former Neighbours star Sam Clark, plus a whole host of entertainment and soon to be announced local artists from 2pm, building up to the big celebrity Switch-On moment. It's guaranteed to ooze festive family fun and get visitors into the holiday spirit in a way only Blackpool knows how.

Christmas events around St John’s in the heart of the town and the Houndshill Shopping Centre throughout December mean stocking up in Blackpool is simply more fun!

This is a fantastic event to launch the Christmas season and we look forward to welcoming many visitors who choose to shop here or just enjoy the fantastic attractions on offer.”

Blackpool town centre will be transformed into a winter wonderland of sparkling lights as the town welcomes shoppers to the festivities as streets are lit with brilliant chandeliers and icicles creating a marvellous atmosphere of excitement and wonder.

The scheme will see the streets bathed in brightly coloured energy-efficient LEDs for ultra-low power consumption to add a touch of magic to visitors' Christmas shopping trips.

With the fantastic choice of attractions, shows and events happening over the festive period, Blackpool is definitely the place to be.
