British comedian Russell Kane is bursting back onto The Grand’s stage this year as part of his hilarious Posturing Delivery tour.
This November you can enjoy a night of hilarious antics and non-stop laughter with the edgy, Fosters Comedy Award-winning comedian, Russell Kane. His brand new show, Posturing Delivery, is coming to the Grand Theatre on Friday 9 November.
Russell started his stand up career as “A dare. A curiosity. A one off. A let’s see what will happen” and in 2004 won the Laughing Horse New Act of the Year award before coming second in So You Think You’re Funny in 2005. He joined Russell Howard, Reginald D Hunter and Ray Peacock on the national Paramount Edinburgh and Beyond tour in October 2005.
In 2006 Russell Kane took his debut show, The Theory of Pretension, to the Edinburgh Fringe where he received an Edinburgh Comedy Award nomination. He returned to Edinburgh in with Gaping Flaws in 2008 and was nominated again for an Edinburgh Comedy Award.
Later that summer he took a slight change of direction with his hour-long Fakespeare play, The Lamentable Tragedie of Yates’s Wine Lodge, which transferred for one night to the Royal Shakespeare Company, Stratford-upon-Avon. It was performed on The Courtyard Theatre’s main stage in August 2008.
He took his Fakespeare play to Edinburgh in 2009 along with his stand-up show Human Dressage which saw him pick up his third nomination for the Edinburgh Comedy Award.
Taking over from Russell Brand on Big Brother’s Big Mouth propelled Russell’s comedy into the mainstream in 2007 and since then he’s hardly been off the TV! He’s a favourite on comedy panel shows and has presented I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here Now since 2009. In November 2011 Russell won a Children in Need edition of Mastermind, with his specialist subject ‘The Life and Novels of Evelyn Waugh’.
The undoubtedly multi-talented comedian has had a busy year! He toured his show Manscaping, which came to The Grand in February, released his first novel, The Humorist in April as well as making appearances on various TV shows including BBC 2’s The Apprentice...You’re Fired. He also began hosting his brand new show Britain Unzipped in May this year with Greg James. How is he fitting it all in?!
Don’t worry- Russell will be ready and raring to deliver his new show Posturing Delivery this November which will keep you laughing all night long.
