Whether you love a classical concert, are a pop prince or princess, or love to rock out, Blackpool has plenty to offer in terms of live music.

The annual Illuminations weekend offers a great chance to see your favourite acts. Last year saw a star-studded line up for Switch On Weekend including James Morrison, Beverley Knight, Olly Murs, Pixie Lott, Scouting for Girls,  and many more! This year’s event takes place on the weekend of August 31 – keep checking back for details of acts and the Switch On Star!

A whole series of FREE concerts run at Stanley Park bandstand from June to September; from classical to jazz and musicals to modern favourites performed by the very best local talent.

Snap up tickets early for concerts in the Winter Gardens, Tower Ballroom and North Pier, which host a range of bands from dance acts like Katy B and Fatboy Slim, to indie kids and rockers like The Killers, Arctic monkeys and kaiser Chiefs, or easy-listening and pop with the likes of Will Young, One Direction and Jedward.

The new Tower Festival Headland has the capacity to host 20,000 people for concerts and events.  Keep an eye out in 2012 as this area will be used for some very special events and shows including Elton John on 16 June and The Wanted and McFly on 22 June
