Omid Djalili
Omid Djalili is an English born Iranian stand-up comedian, actor, television producer and writer.
He is a household name who first hit the headlines following the significant success of his stand-up routine at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 1995.
Since then Omid has performed across the globe, has been nominated for and won a host of awards and featured in a string of hit films and TV shows. Blackpool is delighted to be welcoming such a renowned
figure from the comedy world to headline at Comedy Carpet Live.
Mark Watson
A former member of the Cambridge Footlights and multi-award winning stand-up comedian, Mark Watson has embarked on multiple worldwide tours, appeared on BBC1’s Live At The Apollo, Dave’s One Night Stand, 8 Out of 10 Cats, presented BBC2’s Never Mind the Buzzcocks and released his debut stand-up DVD last year. Since winning the first ever Panel Prize at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2006, Mark has gone on to write four novels.
Daniel Sloss
At the age of 22 Scots born Daniel Sloss is one of the fastest rising young stars of UK comedy. He started doing stand-up aged 16 and has appeared on countless TV shows as well as starring in his own BBC show The Adventures of Daniel. Daniel has also performed across Europe, Australia and South East Asia and in 2011 was named winner of the Scottish Variety Award for Best New Comedian.
Lucy Beaumont
Lucy Beaumont is very welcome in Blackpool after last being here in 2012 when she won the Radio 2 New Comedy Award. Lucy is a hugely talented comedy actress and writer. In August 2011 she was a finalist in
the Gilded Balloon’s nationwide stand-up comedy competition So You Think You’re Funny?

Paul Merton presents Silent Clowns featuring 'Safety Last' starring Harold Lloyd
Nationally acclaimed comedian Paul Merton hosts a fantastic selection of the very best in silent film comedy.
Paul will be sharing his unparalleled expertise and passion for these early gems. Top of the bill is Harold Lloyd’s masterpiece 'Safety Last' which features one of cinemas most enduring images: Harold hanging from the hands of a giant clock on the outside of a building several storeys up in the air.
In the first half Paul will introduce extracts from other genius’ of silent comedy, Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton and Laurel and Hardy. Paul will introduce each extract with informative and funny anecdotes. Live music will accompany the films from pianist Neil Brand & The Prima Vista Social Club. This is a wonderful chance to experience cinema as it used to be.
