If you want to go on a ghost hunt with a difference join Mysteria Paranormal Events as we take you to “Blackpool Zoo”. Not many people know that the zoo is very haunted and has daily reports of strange occurrences that cannot be explained.
The site where Blackpool Zoo stands today dates back to the 1920’s when it was a pleasure flight aerodrome, and in 1931 the Blackpool Municipal Airport was opened.
With the outbreak of World War II on 3rd September 1939 the airport was requisitioned as an RAF parachute training centre. Large hangers were built to accommodate Wellington bombers that were repaired and assembled and flown from the site.
With a long and varied history the plans and the site for new Blackpool Zoo are finally decided and opened in 1972 by Johnny Morris TV presenter of the poplar “Animal Magic.” programme.
To make your paranormal adventure a exciting experience we will be using the most haunted areas of the zoo which include the nursery which was the old airport building and observation tower, the Elephant Hanger which is known to be one of the most active areas, the cafe area and the staff car park hanger.
Some zoo keeper employees live in -house and have reported many strange instances, TV’s and radios have been turned off at the wall sockets on many occasion. The most recent reporting’s was when one of the newest members of staff who was up late at night giving the animals their late feed. He was in the hospital wing and a door behind him slammed shut with some force, which as you can imagine frightened the keeper who went about this work very quickly...
